Betdaq Privacy Policy
At Betdaq, we take the privacy and security of your personal data seriously. As a UK Gambling Commission-licenced operator, we are legally required to collect certain information about our customers, and we are equally committed to handling that information with care, transparency, and in full compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
This Privacy Policy explains the categories of personal data we collect when you open and use a Betdaq account, the lawful bases on which we process that data, how long we retain it, and the rights you hold as a data subject. We encourage you to read this document in full before registering.
Data We Collect and Why
When you register with Betdaq, we collect your full name, date of birth, email address, residential address, and contact number. This information is essential for account creation and for fulfilling our Know Your Customer (KYC) obligations under UK anti-money laundering legislation. You may also be asked to submit copies of identity documents — a passport or driving licence and a recent utility bill or bank statement — to verify your identity and address before withdrawals are approved.
During normal use of the platform, we collect data relating to every market you view, back, or lay, along with your deposit and withdrawal history, preferred payment methods, and any communications you have with our support team. Technical data — your device type, operating system, IP address, and browser settings — is collected automatically to ensure the platform performs correctly and to help us detect fraud or suspicious activity.
Legal Bases for Processing
Most of our processing is carried out on the basis of contractual necessity — we need your data to provide the betting exchange service you have signed up for. Some processing, particularly that related to AML checks and responsible gambling obligations, is carried out to comply with legal requirements placed on us by the UK Gambling Commission and HMRC. Where we send you marketing communications, we do so only with your explicit consent, which you may withdraw at any time through your account preferences.
Data Sharing
Betdaq shares customer data with a limited number of trusted third parties, including payment service providers, identity verification agencies, fraud prevention databases, and regulatory bodies where we are legally obliged to do so. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise transfer your personal information to any third party for their own marketing purposes.
Retention and Your Rights
We retain your account data for a minimum of five years following account closure, in accordance with UKGC licence conditions and AML legislation. You have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to correct inaccuracies, to object to certain types of processing, and — where legally permissible — to request deletion. To make any such request, contact us at [email protected]. If you believe your rights have been infringed, you may file a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
